My first James Rollins thriller。 He includes a cast of characters called the Sigma Force, a little history and mythology and a little since to create a good and fast read。 This one revolves around a modern day journey to follow route of Odysseus and the Odyssey。 It reminded me of "The Da Vinci Code" and Dan Brown's other exhausting page turners。 I'll try another in the series。 My first James Rollins thriller。 He includes a cast of characters called the Sigma Force, a little history and mythology and a little since to create a good and fast read。 This one revolves around a modern day journey to follow route of Odysseus and the Odyssey。 It reminded me of "The Da Vinci Code" and Dan Brown's other exhausting page turners。 I'll try another in the series。 。。。more

NiceI enjoyed this book alot。 The characters were dead on。 The plot kept the story moving along smoothly。 I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good read。

Michelle Palmer,
Another roller coaster of a thriller We were taken from Greenland to Italy to Morocco。 These characters have saved the world again。 The plot of this one was rollicking and the twists were definitely surprising
Anne,
I listened to this as an audio book, and while I reliably love these I had a harder time enjoying it because of the voices the narrator gave each character。 It also made me realize how violent these can be, something I hadn't noticed until I had to listen to it。 Nonetheless the story was unique, entertaining, and an interesting blend of history, science, and mystery。 The ending left me ready for the next one。 I listened to this as an audio book, and while I reliably love these I had a harder time enjoying it because of the voices the narrator gave each character。 It also made me realize how violent these can be, something I hadn't noticed until I had to listen to it。 Nonetheless the story was unique, entertaining, and an interesting blend of history, science, and mystery。 The ending left me ready for the next one。 。。。more
Meghan Grout,
Sigma is still fun and exciting but I did feel it was a little old。 It was a bit like Rollins pulled from the plots of Bloodline and Bone Labyrinth then threw in some heavy religious undertones。 Did I love it? No。 Did it make me cry? Yes。 Will I keep reading his work? Oh yea
Joop Debruin,
My first James Rollins book, but not the last! I had a Myth & Legend course in high school that started me down the path of reading all of the Greek classics。 Also, I've spent holidays in Iceland, worked in Morocco and have a close Berber friend from college days。 So I appreciated the accuracy throughout the book。 Well done!

Meraviglioso!
Ken,
One of the absolute dumbest books I’ve ever read。 DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME。
David,
Great, crazy concept that Rollins somehow makes completely believable and plausible。 I'm not sure how he pulls this off, but he always does。 Excellent! Gregory Malnar,
I got hooked on the first sigma I read, the bone labyrinth。 At the time it had everything I wanted: pulpy fast paced page turning action, a cast of cookie cutter characters with just enough depth to keep the momentum going, ties in science, myth, fiction, conspiracy (loved the artificial moon shit, which I stand by) and alternative history。 Enjoyed the 6th extinction enough to read more sigmas。 The standalones like Amazonia and ice hunt were。。。fun。 I guess I’ve read about 10 Rollins books and。。。 I got hooked on the first sigma I read, the bone labyrinth。 At the time it had everything I wanted: pulpy fast paced page turning action, a cast of cookie cutter characters with just enough depth to keep the momentum going, ties in science, myth, fiction, conspiracy (loved the artificial moon shit, which I stand by) and alternative history。 Enjoyed the 6th extinction enough to read more sigmas。 The standalones like Amazonia and ice hunt were。。。fun。 I guess I’ve read about 10 Rollins books and。。。 holy shit。。。 the last few seem like they could have been the exact same book。 Change the location, change the mysterious object, change the culture your dealing with, change the savage beasties, slightly modify the eccentric millionaire villain bent on ending the world。。。but other than that I think the books are the same。 Pretty sure the dialogue is exactly the same。 I’m quite convinced Rollins has a Mad Libs template and from here, merely fills in the relevant blanks with new, slightly modified, all too tired and painfully familiar details。 。。。more
Mathew,
James Rollins never fails to deliver a great story jam packed with action and adventure。
Nick Quenga,
++Did not read previous books in the series++Good adventure romp, great ties to mythology。 Especially listen to the afterword for real historical tie-ins。
Mary Ann,
3。5 I usually love to read a James Rollins story but I found this latest novel arduous to get through。 The amount of historical names and the hundreds of pages it took to arrive at some momentum was distracting。
